Elon Musk, the billionaire businessman and owner of X (formerly Twitter), has drawn criticism for his remarks concerning Alice Weidel, a prominent leader of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.
In an op-ed published in Germany’s Welt am Sonntag newspaper, Musk appeared to defend the AfD, stating that the party is “not as extreme as critics claim.” He specifically referenced Weidel, the party’s co-chair, and highlighted her relationship with a same-sex partner of Sri Lankan origin.
