The Sri Lanka Excise Department has recorded a revenue of Rs. 120.5 billion during the first six months of 2025, achieving 102.6% of the target set by the Ministry of Finance.
According to department sources, this figure surpasses the revenue goal for the period, marking a significant improvement in collection efficiency. In 2023, the department contributed Rs. 226.7 billion to the government, up from Rs. 178.6 billion in 2022 and Rs. 170.3 billion in 2021. (Newswire)
