Minister Bimal Rathnayake dismissed the opposition’s criticisms as inconsistent and exaggerated, using a cricket analogy to illustrate his point.
Likening the opposition’s criticisms to slow bowling in cricket, the MP said however the bowling action is baffling.
“They run like Micheal Holding, or Sugath Thilakarathne, but the delivery is slow. In slow motion… fast running, slow bowling,” the Minister said.
Minister Rathnayake also said that Premier Harini Amarasuriya and he often wondered as to why they get blamed so much. “They criticize very loudly, but we wonder what wrong we have done to be on the receiving end,” he said.
“We take your criticisms seriously. We don’t believe that you’re alienated or lead double lives. It’s really shocking for us,” the Minister said. (Newswire)
