A brother of former Minister Manusha Nanayakkara has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection with an alleged financial fraud.
The arrest was made in the Bibile area following a complaint regarding a financial scam involving promises of foreign employment opportunities in Finland.
According to Police, the suspect had allegedly demanded Rs. 4 million, out of which Rs. 3 million had been collected, under the pretense of securing foreign employment for individuals.
Investigations into the incident are currently underway, and the suspect is scheduled to be presented before the Gampaha Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (29). (NewsWire)
