Former Anuradhapura district UNP MP and deputy minister W.B. Ekanayake has passed away at the age of 76.
According to the Anuradhapura Police, the politician had died due to a fall at his house in Anuradhapura yesterday.
Stating that the former MP suffered from diabetes, the Police said the man taking care of him had left for Jaffna due to an illness and the politician had been home alone at the time of his death.
W.B. Ekanayake’s body has been placed at the Anuradhapura Hospital for the post-mortem examination. (Newswire)
