GBS & IVS Global respond to CoPF members’ allegations on visa process

GBS Technology Services and IVS Global FZCO, which handled the new visa issuance system at the Katunayake Airport in collaboration with global visa processing service, VFS Global, have responded to recent claims made by Committee on Public Finance (CoPF) members, concerning its visa issuance system.

At a recent media briefing, CoPF members Patali Champika Ranawaka, Rauff Hakeem, and M.A. Sumanthiran raised several allegations against the visa issuance system and VFS Global, including high charges and the involvement of a bank account in Dubai.

The concerns were raised after the three Parliamentarians had briefed the public on the three petitions that were filed at the Supreme Court in July against Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles and the government against the VFS visa procedure introduced at the Katunayake Airport.

Responding to the claims, GBS Technology Services and IVS Global FZCO said that initially marked by confidence, the press conference of the MPs soon devolved into a series of misleading claims as the MPs attempted to steer the discussion away from the facts and towards their political agendas.
