Govt considers online payment portals for Sri Lanka’s overseas missions

The government is currently exploring the implementation of secure online payment portals for services provided through Sri Lanka’s overseas missions, Deputy Foreign Minister Arun Hemachandra said.

The Deputy Foreign Minister said the initiative is being overlooked by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Economy.

He further said it was part of a broader digital transformation agenda aimed at improving service accessibility, reducing administrative delays, and strengthening transparency in the delivery of consular, employment, and tourism-related services. (Newswire)
