Showery weather conditions are expected to continue further over the Northern, North-central, Eastern and Uva provinces for the next few days, according to the Department of Meteorology.
As such, showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva provinces and Matale district. Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm can be expected at some places in Eastern and Uva provinces and Matale and Polonnaruwa districts.

Winds will be north-easterly in the sea areas around the island and speed will be 20-35 kmph. Wind speed can increase up to 40-50 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Colombo to Hambantota via Puttalam, Kankasanthurai, Trincomalee and Batticaloa.
