Injury scare for Sri Lanka ahead of Australia Tests

Sri Lanka’s preparations for the upcoming Australia series have been dealt a blow as Kamindu Mendis sustained a split webbing while attempting a catch during today’s First-Class game between SSC and CCC. The injury required stitches, raising concerns about his availability.

A senior Sri Lanka Cricket official, however, played down the severity, stating, “I think Kamindu will be ok; it’s only 1 or 2 stitches.”

Adding to Sri Lanka’s worries, Pathum Nissanka remains doubtful for the series due to a groin strain. With less than two weeks until the series begins, the team faces mounting injury concerns. (NewsWire)
