Israel attacks Palestinians at US-backed aid hubs in Gaza, killing 31

An Israeli attack near an aid distribution point run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) killed at least 30 people in Rafah, Palestinian news agency WAFA and Hamas-affiliated media said on Sunday.

There was no immediate comment from Israel on the reported attack, which WAFA said injured more than 115 people.

Ibrahim Abu Saoud, who witnessed the Israeli attack on aid seekers near Rafah, says Israeli forces opened fire at people moving towards the Israeli-backed distribution centre.

“There were many martyrs, including women”, Abu Saoud, 40, was quoted as saying by the Associated Press news agency. “We were about 300 metres [328 yards] away from the military.”
