The Department of Immigration and Emigration announced that its 24-hour one-day passport issuing service, which was in effect since February 18, 2025, will end on May 30, 2025.
From June 2, 2025, applications for the one-day passport service will be accepted from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Department’s Head Office in Battaramulla.
Applicants with prior reservations or urgent needs will also be accommodated under this service. Normal passport applications will continue to be accepted at the Head Office and all Regional Offices from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. as usual.
