Sri Lanka Cricket has confirmed that acting head coach Sanath Jayasuriya will continue as interim head coach for the upcoming New Zealand tour of Sri Lanka.
The series, set to take place next week in Sri Lanka, will see Jayasuriya extend his role following the recent successful Test win against England at The Oval.
Under Jayasuriya’s guidance, Sri Lanka achieved a historic ODI series win against India, their first in 27 years. Although Sri Lanka lost the recent Test series against England 2-1, many have praised the team’s commendable performance against a strong England side.
Sri Lanka Cricket appointed Sanath Jayasuriya as interim head coach in July, following the resignation of Chris Silverwood after a disappointing T20 World Cup campaign, while the search for a permanent head coach continues. (Newswire)
