Lakshman Kiriella to “Rest” after 36 years in Parliament

Senior former Opposition MP Lakshman Kiriella (76) has announced that he will not contest the upcoming parliamentary election, marking the end of his 36-year career in parliament.

Speaking to the media, Kiriella said he plans to rest after decades of political service.

It has been reported that his daughter is expected to contest from the Kandy district under the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) party. When asked for confirmation, the former MP indicated that the matter would be revealed tomorrow. (NewsWire)
