Portuguese international and Liverpool forward, Diogo Jota, has reportedly died following a car accident in Spain, according to local media outlets.
The tragic incident is said to have occurred near the city of Zamora in northwestern Spain. Spanish news agency EFE broke the news, reporting that the 28-year-old was involved in a fatal crash.
Jota joined Liverpool from Wolverhampton Wanderers in September 2020 for a transfer fee exceeding £40 million. He quickly became a fan favourite at Anfield with his goal-scoring prowess and relentless work rate.
