Maithri launches Autobiography:”Not a single word on Easter Attacks”

Former President Maithripala Sirisena launched his autobiography, Sihinaya – Nonimiya, in Colombo on Friday (4).

Speaking at the event, Sirisena addressed the absence of any mention of the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks, which occurred during his presidency.

“Those who want to discredit me may expect to find something about the Easter attack in this book. I haven’t written a single word about it,” he said.

He explained that the book took three years to write and that concerns arose about whether it should be printed in Sri Lanka. “Therefore, it was printed abroad and remained unpublished for five years,” he added.

Sirisena also stated that he had been waiting for the right time to release the book and felt the current political climate under the new government was the right moment. (NewsWire)
