Man allegedly dragged away by Crocodile in Kalutara

 

Investigations have been launched by Kalutara North Police after reports emerged of a man being dragged away by a crocodile near the Kalutara Bodhiya, under the Kalutara Bridge, yesterday.

According to a complaint received by the police, a witness who was standing on the Kalutara Bridge claimed to have seen a crocodile suddenly attack and drag away a person who was washing his face under the bridge.

During a search operation conducted by the police, a travel bag was found at the location, containing an identification card with a photograph belonging to a 28-year-old resident of Kataragama, along with two bank passbooks.

The Sri Lanka Navy has also been informed of the incident, while Kalutara North Police continues further investigations. (NewsWire)
