Middle East crisis: Explosions heard over Doha

Explosions were heard over Qatar’s capital, Doha, on Monday, after a Western diplomat said there had been a credible Iranian threat against the U.S.-run al Udeid air base in the Gulf Arab state since midday.

Earlier in the day, Qatar closed its airspace as a precaution, following warnings from the U.S. and the U.K. for their citizens in the country to shelter in place until further notice.
