A mother and her daughter were injured in a train collision involving a motor vehicle, Weligama Police reported.
The accident occurred this afternoon (01) at the second narrow railway crossing in Hettiweediya, Weligama.
According to police, the woman, a resident of Hettiweediya, Weligama, was taking her daughter to a tuition class when their vehicle was struck by a train traveling from Vavuniya to Beliatta.
Both the mother and daughter sustained injuries and have been admitted to Matara General Hospital for treatment.
Weligama Police are conducting further investigations into the incident. (NewsWire)
