Tamil National Alliance (TNA) MP Shanakiyan Rasamanickam has raised concerns over a recent news article detailing an assassination plot against him.
The Batticaloa District MP called on the Parliament of Sri Lanka to conduct an inquiry into the report by the news website, Lanka-e-News.
Speaking in Parliament today, MP Shanakiyan Rasamanickam said as per the news report, the assassination plot has been uncovered by a foreign intelligence service.
He further said that the news report refers to a current Member of Parliament, who has been previously accused of murder and even linked to the 2019 Easter attacks, of being behind the assassination plot.
MP Shanakiyan Rasamanickam called on the Parliament to conduct an inquiry and take necessary action in this regard, based on the history of the Member of Parliament mentioned in the news report. (Newswire)
