Navy officer becomes first Sri Lankan to complete U.S. SEAL training

 

Lieutenant Koyan Chamitha, an officer of the Sri Lanka Navy’s Special Boat Squadron (SBS), has become the first Sri Lankan to complete the U.S. Navy SEAL training program and earn the prestigious SEAL Trident pin.

He underwent 14 months of intensive training with the U.S. Navy. The program is regarded as one of the toughest in the world, with a dropout rate of over 75%.
