The National People’s Power (NPP) has established power in the Balangoda Urban Council and the Thanamalvila Pradeshiya Sabha.
The NPP secured a majority of votes in the elections held during the inaugural sessions of the two local councils today.
The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) media unit confirmed that, accordingly, the NPP has secured control of a total of 200 local councils so far. (Newswire)
