In celebration of the Sri Lanka Navy’s 74th Anniversary today, a total of 2138 senior and junior sailors have been advanced to higher ranks as of 09th December 2024.
Issuing a statement, the Navy said the promotions are granted following the recommendation of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera.
Accordingly, the advancements include 158 Ordinary Seamen, 279 Able Seamen, 406 Leading Seamen, 391 Petty Officers, 539 Chief Petty Officers, 354 Fleet Chief Petty Officers, and 11 Master Chief Petty Officers.
Under the leadership of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, a series of programmes are being conducted across all Naval Commands, highlighting the Navy’s enduring traditions and religious practices as part of the anniversary festivities. (Newswire)
