A 27-year-old man has died after falling out of a moving passenger bus in the Habarana area along the Habarana–Trincomalee main road.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of 11 April, when the bus, which was travelling from Trincomalee to Colombo, passed through the Habarana town area. The victim had reportedly fallen from the front door of the bus under unclear circumstances.
He was rushed to the Habarana Hospital with critical injuries but was pronounced dead while receiving treatment.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of Bodhiwela, Rikillagaskada.
The body has been placed at the Polonnaruwa Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the driver of the bus has been taken into custody, and further investigations are underway by the Habarana Police. (Newswire)
