National People’s Power (NPP) Member of Parliament Vijitha Herath has raised concerns regarding the difficulties faced by Sri Lankan migrant workers who are trying to return to Sri Lanka to vote in the upcoming presidential election.
During a press conference, he pointed out that many Sri Lankan migrant workers are eager to come back for the election, but those with expired passports are encountering problems renewing them.
The MP expressed suspicion that the government may have deliberately allowed these issues to escalate. He further stated that corrupt deals are a primary reason behind these problems. (Newswire)
