The Colombo Central Divisional Crime Detective Bureau has arrested five suspects, aged between 31 and 54, in connection with the theft of multiple three-wheelers. The suspects are residents of Seeduwa, Orugodawatta, Colombo 10, and Colombo 14.
Acting on a tip-off, officers conducted a raid on December 27 in the Stace Road area of the Grandpass Police Division. During the operation, one suspect was apprehended with crystal methamphetamine (‘Ice’), leading to the recovery of nine stolen three-wheelers.
The following day (28), four more suspects were arrested in Seeduwa, Maligawatta, Grandpass, and Wellampitiya for possession of stolen three-wheelers. They were later handed over to the Colombo Fort Police Station.
Investigations have revealed that the thefts occurred in the Fort, Kiribathgoda, Wattala, and Borella police divisions. The Fort Police are continuing their inquiries. (NewsWire)
