The Walasmulla Magistrate’s Court has issued open warrants for two suspects accused of orchestrating the killing of three family members in Middeniya.
The suspects, identified as Lahiru Madushan, alias “Thambili Lahiru,” and Nirmala Sanjeewa, alias “Baco Saman,” are believed to be hiding in Dubai.
The warrants were issued by Magistrate and Additional District Judge Navoda Koku Henadige following a request from Middeniya Police OIC, Chief Inspector Rohan Wickramasekara.
The triple murder occurred on February 18 at Kadewatta junction in Galpoththayaya, Middeniya. The victims—Middeniye Kajja, his son, and daughter—were shot while traveling on a motorcycle. Investigations indicate that the attack was planned and executed under the direction of the two wanted suspects.
Police reports state that Lahiru and Sanjeewa are involved in drug trafficking and have multiple criminal allegations against them. Meanwhile, 11 individuals, including the suspected main shooter, have been arrested in connection with the case.
Authorities are working to locate and apprehend the two fugitives. (NewsWire)
