Senior Sri Lankan journalist Chamuditha Samarawickrama has been provided with additional Police security, following increased threats to his life and amidst the deaths of his four interviewees.

Upon being inquired, senior journalist Chamuditha Samarawickrama also confirmed to Newswire that he has been provided with four MSD officials.
Four persons interviewed by Chamuditha Samarawickrama had been killed under mysterious circumstances in the recent past.
Citing concerns over the incidents, the recent being the shooting in Middeniya, the senior journalist had requested authorities to provide protection for him
Taking the matter in Parliament, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa also called on the authorities to tighten security for judges, and especially journalists.
MP Sajith Premadasa said that protection must be given to journalists such as Chamuditha Samarawickrama who are facing severe threats at present. (Newswire)
