A Police Sergeant has been arrested on charges of soliciting a bribe of Rs. 150,000 from a resident of Uswetakeiyawa, the Bribery Commission said.
The Sergeant attached to the Mahabage Police Traffic Division had extorted the individual, stating that the individual had been named in a list of suspects under the Police ‘Yukthiya’ operation to combat crime.
