A high-level delegation comprising top executives from several leading Indian companies is currently in Sri Lanka to explore new investment opportunities and assess existing potential across key sectors.
The visit follows an invitation extended by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake during his recent official visit to India. The delegation’s presence underscores growing interest among Indian investors in strengthening economic ties with Sri Lanka.
President Dissanayake met the business delegation at the Presidential Secretariat on Monday afternoon (July 1), where he outlined the steps taken by the government to stabilize the economy and create a conducive environment for foreign investment.
The Indian delegates have shown particular interest in investment prospects in energy, infrastructure, the digital economy, tourism, agriculture, and the development of entrepreneurial capacity in Sri Lanka.
During the meeting, the President emphasized the government’s commitment to facilitating regional investment by offering the necessary infrastructure and policy support. He also expressed appreciation for the delegation’s enthusiasm in exploring mutually beneficial ventures that would strengthen the economic partnership between the two countries.
