President Anura Kumara Dissanayake paid his final respects to the late Most Venerable Anamaduwe Sri Dhammadassi Thera, Anunayake of the Asgiri Chapter in Kandy.
Dhammadassi Thera died at age 67 following a sudden illness. He was the chief incumbent of the historic Athkanda Raja Maha Viharaya in Kurunegala and a former professor at the Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka.
The final rites of the Anunayake of the Asgiri Chapter of the Siam Sect will be held with state sponsorship on Thursday, July 24, at the Asgiriya Police Grounds in Kandy. (Newswire)
