A 23-year-old man from Welikanda was arrested by Fort Police after climbing a road traffic post near the Presidential Secretariat on Saturday, seeking a meeting with the president.
Police said the man remained atop the 20-foot traffic post, causing traffic delays and prompting a response from emergency services. He was safely brought down using rescue equipment and taken into custody.
He told police he had made repeated attempts to meet the president and climbed the structure to draw attention.
He is expected to be produced in court. Investigations continue. (Newswire)
