Prisons to permit open visits during Sinhala and Tamil New Year

Commissioner General of Prisons Gamini Dissanayake has announced that inmates will be allowed open visits from family members or guests during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

Accordingly, open visits will be permitted on April 13 and 14 across all prisons in the country.

During these visits, each inmate will also be allowed to receive one parcel containing food, sweets, or sanitary items, brought by their relatives.
