Meanwhile, several spells of light showers will occur in the sea areas extending from Mannar to Batticaloa via Kankesanthurai and Trincomalee.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the other sea areas around the island during the evening or night.

Winds will be North-easterly in the sea areas around the island and speed will be 20-30 kmph. Wind speed can increase up to 40 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Kankasanthurai.

The sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Kankesanthurai may be fairly rough at times. Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers. (Newswire)
