Opposition Leader MP Sajith Premadasa and US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung have engaged in discussions focusing on advancing the US-Sri Lanka trade relationship.
In a message on ‘X’, MP Sajith Premadasa said he stressed on the importance of a fair, forward-looking partnership, during the meeting.
“Had a constructive discussion today with the US Ambassador to Sri Lanka on deepening trade ties. I stressed the importance of a fair, forward-looking partnership that unlocks opportunity, supports Sri Lankan industries, and delivers real benefits to both our people,” MP Premadasa said.
Also commenting on the meeting, US Ambassador Julie Chung said the discussion with MP Premadasa focused on advancing a more balanced US-Sri Lanka trade relationship.
“Productive discussion today with Sajith Premadasa, Leader of the Opposition, Samagi Jana Balawegaya, on advancing a more balanced U.S.-Sri Lanka trade relationship.
