Sajith meets protesting unemployed graduates near Parliament

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa today spoke to a group of unemployed graduates who were engaged in a protest for the second day near the Parliament, to inquire about their needs. 

The unemployed graduates are engaged in a protest at the Polduwa Junction in Battaramulla demanding jobs from the government.

Speaking to the Opposition Leader, the unemployed graduates said during the past election, the government had promised to grant jobs but was yet to fulfil the promise. 

They further said that around 40,000 unemployed graduates, including themselves, have been stranded.

Responding to them, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said that although he had informed Parliament on this matter on several occasions before, no response had been received from the government or the responsible parties.

MP Premadasa further revealed that the government has informed that it will provide an answer to the issue regarding the unemployed graduates in Parliament today. (Newswire)
