The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) with several other parties has formed a new alliance, the “Peoples Alliance” (Podujana Eksath Peramuna).
According to the SLFP, MP Anura Priyadarshana Yapa has been appointed the leader of the new alliance.
The new political alliance was launched during a ceremony held today which was attended by the SLFP faction led by Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva, several religious leaders, and the public.
