The Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court has ordered statements to be recorded from 18 Cabinet Ministers from the previous government regarding the alleged importation and distribution of substandard drugs to government hospitals.
The court directive was issued in relation to investigations into the purchase and supply of these drugs, following claims that they did not meet required safety and quality standards. The ministers in question were reportedly part of the Cabinet that approved the procurement and distribution of the drugs in question.
