In a press conference held today in Colombo, former Auditor Generals Sarath Chandrasiri Mayadunne and Gamini Wijesinghe announced their support for Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the Presidential candidate of the National People’s Power (NPP).
Mayadunne emphasized the need for a decisive change, criticizing the current and past leaders for the country’s economic collapse. He highlighted the corruption and mismanagement that have plagued Sri Lanka, calling for a new leadership to steer the country away from destruction.
Wijesinghe echoed these sentiments, pointing to the 2015 bond scam as a key moment in the country’s decline. He criticized those responsible for the country’s bankruptcy, who are now seeking power once again, and expressed his belief that only a trustworthy, corruption-free government can revive the nation. Both urged citizens to vote for change in the upcoming election. (Newswire)
