Two women, aged 38 and 58, tragically lost their lives, and a three-year-old child was injured in a collision between a van and a motorcycle in Eppawala today (04).
The accident occurred near Katiyawa Junction on the Thalawa-Kekirawa road when the van driver, a police sergeant from Anuradhapura, reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and hit the motorcycle.
The injured child has been admitted to Anuradhapura Hospital for further treatment. The van driver has been arrested, and police are conducting further investigations. (Newswire)
