The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has requested all rooftop solar system owners to voluntarily switch off their solar inverters today (April 12) until 3:00 PM, due to significantly low electricity demand in the national grid.
In a public notice, the CEB said the request is aimed at ensuring reliable and stable operation of the national electricity supply during the festive season.
“The support of solar power users is sincerely appreciated to help maintain a continuous and secure power supply for the entire nation,” the notice added.
