US & Saudi Arabia sign $142bn arms deal

The United States and Saudi Arabia have signed a landmark defence agreement valued at nearly US$142 billion, which the White House has hailed as the largest such deal in history.

The agreement, signed during President Donald Trump’s visit to Riyadh, is part of a broader US$600 billion package that also includes major Saudi investments in energy and technology sectors.

Describing the deals as “historic and transformative,” the White House emphasized that they reflect a deepening strategic partnership between Washington and Riyadh.

“These are just a few of the many transformative deals reached,” the statement said, highlighting the scale and scope of bilateral cooperation.
