Governor of Uva Province, A. J. M. Muzammil, has tendered his resignation from his post in a letter addressed to President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
In his resignation letter, Muzammil expressed his intention to support Samagi Jana Balawegaya Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa in the upcoming election.
Muzammil said that while serving as Governor, he had conducted himself with professionalism and integrity, making it difficult for him to publicly endorse any candidate while holding office.
Muzammil also voiced his disappointment over certain Governors actively campaigning for Presidential candidates while still in office. (Newswire)
