A 20-year-old suspect has been arrested in Ja-Ela while attempting to sell a walampuri (a rare conch shell) for Rs. 2 million. The arrest was made by officers of the Ja-Ela Police Division on June 2, following a tip-off.
The suspect, a resident of Sapugaskanda, was taken into custody during the police raid conducted in Ja-Ela town. The walampuri was seized as evidence.
