The National Election Commission has issued a stern warning to motorists against displaying stickers promoting election candidates on their vehicles.
The Commission has received numerous complaints regarding private vehicles, including buses and three-wheelers, which display stickers with images and symbols of various election candidates, the Election Commission said in a statement.
Noting that this was a violation the Presidential Elections Act of 1981, the Election Commission said that all such signage and stickers on motor vehicles must be removed immediately.
The Commission further said that instructions have been issued to police stations across the island to enforce the removal of these stickers. (Newswire)
