Showers are expected in some parts of Sri Lanka today, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Accordingly, several spells of showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and Batticaloa and Ampara districts during the evening or night.
Strong winds of about 35-45 kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-central and North-western provinces and Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
Meanwhile, showers may occur at Several places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the eastern sea areas during the afternoon or night.
The sea areas off the coasts extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Matara and Hambantota will be rough or very rough at times.
The sea areas off the coasts extending from Mannar to Galle via Puttalam and Colombo will be fairly rough at times. (Newswire)
