Anura Kumara Dissanayake, leader of the National People’s Power (NPP), has sharply criticized claims made by President Ranil Wickramasinghe that suggest a fuel shortage is inevitable unless he remains in power.
Addressing a public gathering, Dissanayake mocked the notion, asking, “Is Ranil Wickremesinghe an Arabian Sultan?” He dismissed the suggestion that only Wickremesinghe’s leadership could prevent a fuel crisis, stating that such claims are attempts to manipulate public fear to maintain political control.
The NPP leader also tackled another claim regarding the dollar rate, which Wickramasinghe say will rise if the NPP gains power. Dissanayake firmly denied this, assuring that, under NPP governance, the rupee would stabilize, pointing to their economic policies aimed at ensuring stability. (NewsWire)
